TDHA Invited to Fort Bayou Ranch Trials:

TDHA was invited to attend the Fort Bayou Ranch Memorial Championship
Trials held in Vancleave, Mississippi, October 29th, 30th, and 31st, 2010, put on yearly by Reggie Little. He had just become a Member at the Diana Baying in Diana, Texas the first weekend of October and asked that we come to Mississippi, and once approved by the Board, off we went.

I arrived in Ocean Springs Thursday night and met with a friend of mine who lived in Gulfport and was going to help me and we went to Chili's for "supper" and a group of folks, in from Beaumont, came in with Hog Dog Shirts on and ,of course, w e had TDHA shirts on, so I struck up a conversation and signed up two while sitting and eating. Good beginning.

Friday, the 29th,started off with a "bang" when we began setting up our booth, finding our tent broken badly, but Brandon and Ricky Fowler, there from Diana, Texas, to compete, took over and with little to no effort, had us "duct taped" up and operational within 15 minutes. How's that for TDHA Member participation? My thanks to them.

This was a great venue, and well represented by Members of TDHA, there to compete, from Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and even Florida. Even the Judges were Members, one from Long Beach, Mississippi and the other from Wills Point, Texas. Bill Huff was not able to make it due to unexpected work duties and we missed him.

This was a family oriented Trial, with children from all ages there ,with their folks set up all over the acreage, with tents, campers, and motor homes, planning to be there the whole weekend. Reggie had such a nice set up there. There were bleachers , chair seating, covered pavilion seating, picnic tables, and many amenities to make sure all were comfortable for the "long haul." Their Trial set up was fantastic.

By lunch time on Friday, we had met many people, had many to come by and discuss "who" we were, and "what" our Purpose was, and had signed up 2 more new Members. Once the Trials got under way, we were able to mingle with vendors that were there, just plain visit for sometime. Saturday Reggie announced our presence, and let people know that he was a Member , announced the purpose of TDHA, and how all States needed to support all organizations with the same Cause as ours. We signed up 7 more new Members, one from North Carolina, and one from Brooklyn, New York, relocating to Boca Raton, Florida. Reggie hosted a barbecue Saturday night and we were invited to stay and let me tell you, the food was great. So all in all I feel that this was a great adventure and am proud to be a Member of TDHA.
